Berlin June 2017 Member Meeting

The Payments Innovation Alliance is headed to Berlin! As one of Europe’s fastest growing innovation hubs, Berlin has a thriving FinTech ecosystem that makes it an ideal location for our non-US membership meeting. We will convene June 1-2, 2017 at the Kempinski Hotel Bristol in Berlin, Germany. Please note - the International Payments Framework Association (IPFA) will meet in Berlin the day prior our event on Wednesday, May 31st.

Agenda topics under development:

SEPA and PSD2 - Are there lessons the US and other geographies can learn from this effort? How do APIs, Cybersecurity and standardization fit in?

Instant, Real-time, Faster Payments Trends – What’s Happening This session will include an update on global activity, trends, challenges, volume, business cases that are (and are not) panning out as well as small group discussion. How are geos creating awareness within their corporate customer base? What can be improved on this front? What are the various business models? How does blockchain fit in?

API Session - A Strategic look at Developments in Europe. What has taken place since we were in Dublin a year ago? How are banks adjusting their business model to make money? How do fintechs fit in? The API movement may have started in Europe, but it has spread across to other geos and we will feature multiple stakeholders for an in-depth discussion.

Financial Services Policy And the Future of Payments – Global Perspective. How is policy shaping the future of our space?  How will banks and non-banks fare in light of policy trends?

Cybersecurity – Global Perspectives. We will explore new attacks, channel as well as product related threats and more.

Payments Fraud New industry survey data will be shared

Innovation and Fintech – Showcase of German innovators and the local fintech scene

Alliance members will explore both current and future focused topics with a global lens.  We will explore payment trends, industry activity, new/disruptive technology, and challenges that impact both US and Non-US organizations. Our speakers will be senior level executives from across geographies – dealing with the same issues in many cases that you are. What can we learn from other geographies?  How will regulations in Europe like PSD2 that require account access impact US institutions?  What’s next for faster payments in other countries that already have an established solution in place?

As always, content will be presented in a variety of formats to encourage interaction, knowledge exchange and networking among members, guests and speakers.

Wondering if this meeting is right for you? If gaining an international perspective on payment trends, regulatory activity, strategy, and emerging issues is important to you and your organization, then this is a meeting you won’t want to miss.

Alliance members – this is your meeting! Our Berlin meeting will feature traditional sessions, round-table discussions, interactive moderator-led sessions and more. Active member participation and feedback is encouraged to facilitate meaningful industry dialogue and collaboration as we work to advance domestic and global payments.
